Laugh Out Loud begins contact manager database development for Momentum Arts, Cambridge. 27 February '07
Momentum Arts creatively produce, organize and manage events sponsored by local government bodies. The events are all part of larger initiatives to increase social awareness and understanding of multi-cultural Britain, particularly in East Anglia and the Midlands. All of these events require proposals and budgets to be put forward for sign off. Crucial to this process is contact management. This is evident not only in the project’s production, but also in attracting and inviting attendees and participants. Momentum Arts has built up a large and varied portfolio of contacts, ranging from participants in events to sources of funding and even local celebrities. The quanitity of contacts was becoming unmanageable and co-ordinating largescale events which required reports and mail merges from the data was increasingly difficult. Laugh Out Loud is now in the development stage of providing a complete database system, utilising .NET 2.0 technology to deliver this database in a user friendly interface via a web browser. By using web and database technologies the system will be centralized, easy to use, securely accessible anywhere in the world and extendable, able to adapt as the business changes.
